WE EAT SOCIAL MEDIA FOR BREAKFAST

I thought that the use of diction, syntax, and tone really helped on making the point that we use technology as a way to come out of reality. In the writing, the tone was grim to make sure we get the point that we shouldn't be using the internet as a better version of the real world. The syntax and diction were well formed to get the point across and the author did not try to make complicated sentences so that way the reader can know exactly what point the author was making. I really liked the writing even though I really don't agree with it. I use technology a lot and I also don't like when they send pictures of their breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I think it's really stupid. I also know that people use technology a lot to the point where they like it better than interacting in real life. However, I believe that some people create a community online, a community that might not be able to be created in one on one conversations. I like the internet because we can meet peop...

The digital divide

Sometimes technology is helping me reach my goals becuase if I dont know a certain topic or idea i can find out from a reliable source online. My data is not that protected because i didnt know this. I think people see me as not social online because im not into social media.

#3 I did some voice acting

I practiced some voice acting with some of my friends which ties into the project we are working on that is going to take forever but it has been really fun.

#2 I practiced some Monologues

I also went online and search up some monologues that I can act out to the class so I can show what skills I have when it comes to acting.

I wrote some scripts and even some songs for some projects my friends and I are working on. This helps my skill for the project because I try to practice screenplay whenever I can.

My Academy Topic (idea or skill)

My Skill is going to be how to be a good actor. this skill would ask questions like: What a great actor does off stage and on stage? How you should approach a script? How to give good emotion and character? How to nail your auditions. My resources: My personal opinions An article named "How do you differentiate good acting from bad Acting?"  I will act out some monologs. Quotes from actors How to create a script (I find myself being a better actor when I make my own scripts)

Essay (Fahrenheit 451)

For my essay, I chose to do Option #2 Bradbury's language and syntax are used to convey how Montag's inner world differed from the world around him. The way Bradbury arranges his words and the tone really makes a difference in the way of making images in our mind to understand the story better. When Montag sees Mildred committing suicide Bradbury puts a mental image in our mind so we can understand what Montag is feeling and, how shocked he also is when the airplanes are going by. When Bradbury wants us to get a certain feeling or idea without us having to use much thought he shortens and makes easier to read were even a third grader can understand.  I'm going to be completely honest most of what Bradbury says and what we're supposed to understand I don't fully get it. Whenever Dr.preston reads a certain chapter from the book and then he explains what Bradbury tries to say, I'm almost always in shock, because I never know how he got all that from like one li...

Chicago Post high school Plans (My response)

Here is the original Link to the article on "No post-High School Plans? Chicago Doesn't think you should Graduate" My response I don't think it's a good idea for Chicago to make it a requirement to make post-highschool plans. Chief Education Officer Dr. Janice K. Jackson stated: "We all need to change how we think about what it means to be a High School graduate a diploma alone isn't enough anymore." I totally agree with her statement, there is a high value in being a high school graduate. I have talked with mom before and she explained how you can have a 4.0, having extra Curriculum and you will graduate probably alongside a guy that barely made it with C's or maybe some D's. So I do think there should be a higher standard. However, according to Yuritzy Ramos in an article made on, March 15, 2013, "About 80 percent of students in the United States end up changing their major at least once. On average, college students change their...
